ABOUT

René van Zundert (1981) is a versatile visual artist who captures real life in films and photographs. His fascination with different cultures and worlds drives him to explore them with curiosity.

The reality of less visible people in Rotterdam-Zuid is a tremendous source of inspiration. This has led to documentaries such as 'BARS' (2017), '180CC' (2018, EO), and 'MONDIG ZUID' (2021, EO), screened at various national and international festivals. His film '180CC' won the award for Best Dutch Short Documentary at Cinekid in 2019.

In addition to his work in the film industry, since 2012 he has been passionately conducting film workshops in education. His films strongly resonate with the urban themes that students experience daily. As a result, he breaks taboos and facilitates discussions on challenging topics.
